Our aim at St Raphael’s is to create an environment that promotes a culture of learning, teaching and overall development despite the challenges. We also hope to ensure that our learners are competent in this age of technology which prepares them well for employment and further academic development.
St. Raphael’s School opened on 9 April 1984 to meet the growing need of children with physical disabilities in the Wentworth area. Mr Williams initiated this process with the then Cripple Care Association as they were not catered for in the mainstream schools. The school was accommodated in Tifflin Road at the Associations premises.
St. Raphael’s Special School has the following facilities available to learners:
- School Hall
- Media Centre and Library
- Fully Equipped Learner Computer Centre
- Tuck Shop
- 24/7 CCTV Security Systems
- Swimming Pool
- Therapy Centre
